AWE.
'A feeling of reverential respect mixed with fear or wonder.'
I tried to rationalize and logically find an answer to why we are drawn to ultras.

There isn't one.
I have asked others and watched countless interviews as to why? what drives them? why do it? what's it like? how? how do you stay motivated? and on and on and on to try find the golden key in the shape of a clickbait title that somehow explains it all. That somehow will sum up as to why they will go to incredible depths mentally, physically, and emotionally that crams in a lifetime of experience into a very short window, where all the emotions on the spectrum are felt at some point, in hopes to fully understand them and their reasoning.
From what I have felt and perceived (this is all a grand assumption and a simple mans take on the matter) I think it is a deep self expression that only those that partake in their own endeavor can feel.

It's just a feeling without words.
I am having a real hard time writing this and putting words to these awe inspiring efforts I have witnessed whether it's from the athlete themselves or the people around them. It's a beautiful thing.
And I think that is exactly what I am trying to say.
